Plant Street Academy, a homeschool enrichment academy headquartered in Winter Garden, Florida, is opening a second location in downtown Clermont in January 2027. The new site, located at The City Center, 620 W. Montrose St., is currently accepting enrollment for spring classes beginning Jan. 14, 2027.

The expansion follows sustained interest from South Lake County homeschool families, particularly those in Clermont, Minneola and Groveland, who have been making the trip to Winter Garden to participate in the academy's enrichment programs.

The new Clermont location provides a closer option for students to develop practical skills, build confidence and connect academic learning to everyday life.

"We've had families from Clermont, Minneola and Groveland making the drive to Winter Garden because they believe in what we're teaching," said Lenka Brady, founder of Plant Street Academy. "Opening in Clermont allows us to bring that same experience closer to their communities while continuing to give students a place where they're encouraged to think independently, take chances, learn from mistakes and discover what they're capable of."

Learning That Goes Beyond the Classroom

Plant Street Academy offers parent-directed enrichment programs that complement homeschooling through hands-on, real-world learning. Students develop skills in communication, leadership, entrepreneurship, critical thinking, financial literacy and practical life skills.

The curriculum is rooted in the award-winning Young Founder philosophy: There are no failures in life, just learning lessons.

Rather than focusing solely on reaching the correct answer, students are challenged to ask questions, explore ideas, build, communicate, solve problems, reflect and try again. The approach is designed to help students become confident thinkers who can apply what they learn outside the classroom setting.

The academy's Young Founder program was voted Best of the Best - Best Kids Program 2026, recognizing its approach to helping young people develop entrepreneurial thinking and essential life skills.
